1 Peter 2:1-12

God is BUILDING you into a spiritual temple …
chosen, royal, holy nation … to SHOW others the goodness of God.
Built Up to Stand Out Requires…

1. Something to Take Off

 Psalm 1 (NASB)

How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,

Nor stand in the path of sinners,

Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.

He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,

Which yields its fruit in its season

And its leaf does not wither;

And in whatever he does, he prospers.

3. Somehow to Grow Up

• Chosen people (Is 44:1-2)

• Royal priests. (Exodus 19:6)

• A Holy nation (Exodus 19:6)

• God’s Own possession (Exodus 19:5, Is 43:21, Mal 3:17, DT 14:2)

 4. Then you are ready to Show Off
