Pardon the Interruption - "Not My Agenda" - Luke 1:26-35, Matthew 1:18-21
Wow! This was not the wedding they had planned. It was not the "BIG Day" Mary had dreamed of since being a child. No matter her wedding scrapbook collection or Bride magazine pile - this wasn't the wedding of her dreams. And no doubt, this was NOT what Joseph had envisioned. He just knew - she was the one of his dreams. The wedding was just the beginning of all his dreams. And...this wasn't the agenda they had quietly talked about and planned in the weeks before this. This was a HUGE interruption. What do you do when your plans fall through or fail? How do you hold your plans with open hands?

FACTORY RESET - God Cannot (11/24/24)

Factory Reset - "God Cannot" (Habakkuk)
Doubt is one of Satan's favorite tools. From the Garden of Eden to this day, if the accuser can get you to doubt God's goodness, His care, His ability, His interest - in you- the battle for your mind is already finished. In Genesis 3, his entire strategy is to get Eve to doubt. In Exodus 3, you can hear doubt riddled Moses. And it is likely that you also are tempted at times to think - God cannot, God will not, God is not, God does not... There are some things God cannot do - He cannot lie; He cannot fail; He cannot forsake His own; He cannot make mistakes; He cannot be stopped! If God is for you, who can be against you? Doubt can be just a thought, but it can become the rupture to our confidence in God.

Factory Reset - "I've Got This" (Luke 18:9-14)
One problem we often have is that we listen to the limiting voice of the enemy, but the opposite is just as true! The adversary loves to convince us that we are "all that and a bag of chips." I got this! I'm self-sufficient! I'm capable! I'm unstoppable! The self-help culture in our world tells us - I just need self-actualization to thrive. The Bible is resplendent with examples of proud people, incredibly gifted and capable people, who give in to the poisonous whispers of the evil one and fall on their face. Samson, King Saul, Solomon (the wisest of the wise), the list goes on and on. Humility is the answer. Being anchored (abiding) in Jesus enables us!

FACTORY RESET - I Am Not Enough (11/10/24)
Monday Nov 11, 2024

Factory Reset - "I Am Not Enough" (2 Kings 6:14-18)
Elisha has a servant who cannot see beyond what is right in front of his face. And because all he can see is the opposition that surrounds him, he cannot begin to believe what God has for him. We can often feel exactly the same: I am not enough...I am not good enough...I am not strong enough...I am not faithful enough. This kind of thinking can infect all areas of our lives - work, marriage, friendship, faith, church. Wouldn't it be something if someone would pray that our eyes would be opened to see all that God has for us?

Beyond Sunday- FACTORY RESET (Week 1)
Wednesday Nov 06, 2024
Wednesday Nov 06, 2024
In this week's sermon, Pastor Paxton Redd kicked off the "Factory Reset" series, addressing the lies we encounter and how to counter them with God's truth. The sermon stressed three main points: the importance of knowing the truth, looking at life through an eternal perspective, and being willing to sacrifice our present comfort for obedience to God.
The podcast discussion between Steve Buttram, Tate Wells, Josh Hensley, and Paxton Redd, himself, expanded on these themes, touching on the need for intentional living and avoiding procrastination in our spiritual lives. The speakers emphasized the importance of prioritizing time with God and making it as non-negotiable as any other important appointment.
They also discussed the upcoming Night of Worship event on November 14th at 6:30 PM, which will focus on God's ever-present nature and include three scenes: the battle, looking back, and pressing forward.

FACTORY RESET - There Will Always Be Time (11/3/24)
Monday Nov 04, 2024
Monday Nov 04, 2024
Factory Reset - "There Will Always Be Time" (Ephesians 5:15-17)
There are three certainties in life: life is brief, life is uncertain, and life is fragile. Do not believe the lie that there will always be time. Life is a gift; each day is precious. Seize the day by seizing the moment. The story of the rich fool sets a good example of someone who thought he had all the time in the world. Our lives are not our own. Satan wants to lull us into a mindset where we do not see the importance of the moment. Don't get wrapped up in the things that do not matter. Focus with an eternal focus while you are living in a temporal and temporary world. Don't fall for the lie!

Upcoming events include a "Night of Worship" service in November and a new sermon series called "Factory Reset" that will examine lies we believe and replace them with God's truth.
