Arrows - "The Responsibilities of a Warrior Parent" (Psalm 127:3-5)
In this passage, the role of parenting is described as a warrior. Why? Because we are in a war as parents for the souls of our children. Why are arrows the weapon? Arrows extend the reach of the warrior; every other weapon required you to be close. Your children are going to carry on your reach and your impact after you are gone. Your kids have the ability to go where you cannot go and do what you cannot do.

This episode of the New Work Fellowship podcast dives deeper into the church's current sermon series on "Arrows" from Psalm 127:4. The pastors discuss how to discern God's calling on one's life, sharing personal stories of how others recognized their potential before they did. They explore the biblical account of Elisha and King Jehoash, emphasizing the importance of being "all in" when following God's leading and leaving a lasting legacy that points people to Him.
The upcoming sermon will focus on the responsibilities of "warrior parents" in training up their children like arrows to be launched for God's purposes.

Arrows - "The Power of Potential" (2 Kings 13:14-20)
Parenting is a privilege. We all fall short. We all fail. But wherever we are on that journey, the opportunity of right now is the only moment we have. The past is past, and the future is not promised. Be all in, not half-hearted. You never will know your potential if you do not give your all. What you do and what you do not do has a profound influence on those around you. Get in the game. Who are you serving? Are you really giving it your all? What you do right now has far reaching repercussions! Everyone has a place in shaping the generation to come.

Be That Friend (Mark 2:1-12)
This is the story of the four friends who "brought a friend to Jesus." They wanted their friend to be healed; who wouldn't? But their friend found something so much better because they made the effort to extend the invitation. The best way to make an invitation is to make plans to bring them. If not, meet them in the parking lot. And certainly plan to leave with them and take them to lunch! Who could tell you no? Invite your friends to Jesus.

Not of This World: Daniel - "The End Is Sure" (Daniel 11-12)
The conclusion of the book of Daniel is clear, even though there is much that is not clear. The end is sure! God is in control to the end. Our part is not to figure it out or bring it about - Our part is to trust the One who will!

Not of This World: Daniel - "Here Comes Jesus" (Daniel 10)
Daniel has had amazing visions up to this point. Bizarre experiences! But nothing has prepared the reader for what is about to happen. Daniel struggles with the meaning throughout these last chapters, and so will we. What seems strange is overwhelming; but what is clear is even more overwhelming!

Not of This World: Daniel - "Sin Is Real; Grace Is Greater" (Daniel 9)
We have seen that Daniel was in God's Word, but things were still chaotic around him. Daniel was a contemporary of Jeremiah, and he likely knew Jeremiah personally. Daniel acknowledges that Jeremiah is a prophet and views his writings as scripture. And, the words of Jeremiah had made their way to Babylon. Sin is not just a repressed, old-fashioned, out-of date, archaic idea that just robs people of fun, self-fulfillment, and freedom. According to the Bible, it is through sin that I finally begin to see and find the solution to my greatest need - repentance.

Not of This World: Daniel - "God Rules: Even in the Chaos" (Daniel 8)
In Daniel 8, you have this bizarre vision of an angry ram and a violent goat. Like in the previous chapter, the reader would be wise to be alert to Revelation connections. But this time, in Revelation, the comparison is of an opposite nature; a very different lamb - The Lamb (Revelation 8:1-5, 5:6-8a). How did Jesus teach us to deal with evil in this world? (Matthew 24:4-22) Well, for one thing, in the middle of teaching he points us to Daniel (v15).

Not of This World: Daniel - "Learn From the Past to Trust God With Your Future" (Daniel 7:1-7, 13-14)
The point of Daniel 7 seems to be that kingdoms rise and fall, but there is a kingdom coming that will last forever and NEVER fall. That is the Kingdom of Jesus! No kingdom, no nation, no man or woman will survive forever apart from Jesus Christ. No matter how powerful, terrifying, or dominating, we will all bow before the one and only authority.
